A walk on Tully Mountain on the Renvyle peninsula. This is a very rewarding hill walk with stunning beautiful views. You can either walk the same way back down from the top or continue along the broad ridge and descend on the NW side. The gps-trail descends through the small valley from the last lake on Tully Mountain. This part can be very wet and slippery. It's very likely a better option to climb up west from the lake and descend along the NW ridge. The ridge looks easy enough and should give some good views over the Atlantic. The trail ends with a 4 mile roadwalk back to the museum. Even this roadwalk along quiet country roads is very scenic. Tully Mountain is one of the easiest hillwalks in the Connemara. But still be aware that there are no paths on Tully mountain and the terrain can be quite boggy and slippy at times. If you prefer an easy hillwalk along well maintained waymarked paths I'd recommend the Diamond Hill walk in the nearby Connemara National Park.
