The Highline Trail is one of the best hikes in the US. Almost the entire length of the trail is spent above treeline, following just below the Continental Divide, with incredible, non-stop views. When I hiked this trail, we saw bighorn sheep (close) and mountain goats from a distance. Also, plenty of marmots. Unfortunately, and maybe the only downside to this trail, is that you also will see a lot of other people. It is very popular. When I hiked the Highline, instead of continuing the loop back to the Going to the Sun Rd, at Granite Park Chalet, we continued on to Swiftcurrent Pass and down to the valley at Many Glacier. This route included a 2300' drop, on a narrow trail hugging a rock wall, and made the entire hike ~17 miles. One of my favorite trails anywhere in the world.
