Dachsteinbahn - Kleiner Gjaidstein

To reach the base station of the bahn you have to travel over a toll road. Take a ticket when passing the toll barrier. We had a sommercard. Then the toll is free, show the sommercard(s) when you are back at the barrier. Going up with the Dachsteinbahn to 2700m is also free with the dachsteinbahn. You have to make reservations online. Best to go in the early morning. 1 of the 2 gondolas have a balcony on the top. We had the lift of 8:30 and where lucky to go on the balcony. We made reservations for 8:45 but could also go with the 8:30. On our way back also took a different departure time.
When you arrive at the montainstation you can go to the bridge on the left. This cost 10euro per person. Including the eispalast. But the eispalast is not so great. After this we went to the top of the Kleiner Gjaidstein. Some part you have to climb. You can walk further to the Grosser Gjaidstein. The Kleiner Gjaidstein was our eindpoint. I can advise using sunglasses because of the snow.
