Yep, been there! Had a hot cup of tea on a cold, rainy September morning in 2011. https://www.wikiloc.com/outdoor-trails/kegsugl-brahmin-stage-1-2294847#wp-2294854/photo-871700

Great trek; did this in Sept. 2011.

This is a difficult track; going down more so than going up, of course. Much depends on the season, and whether there have been landslides and/or rascal trouble. I had both, so to avoid them we (my guide and I) had to go through some very thick bush and down some extremely steep mountain sides to get down to the Ramu; heavy rains raised it dangerously high in places in a matter of hours, literally, so we had to hoof it up and into the bush again; it was a relief to reach Braham. But I'd do it again :-)

Stood under this to cool off, then filled my water bottle. https://www.wikiloc.com/outdoor-trails/kegsugl-brahmin-stage-1-2294847#wp-2294856/photo-871705

    Hi Tim,
Thanks for sharing the info. I agree that what makes the trek tough are conditions (elevation and weather) more than the trek itself.
But I would do it again too :-)

    Hi Pedro,
How bizarre: I assume the dates on your photos are correct, so we must have just missed each other by just days. I did this trek in early Sept 2011, and started from Betty's Lodge.
I ended up trekking the Kokoda in 2016; it was wonderful, and extremely difficult - at least it was for me, and it was certainly difficult for my trek-mates (3 of whom were much fitter that I was), well worth the effort.
