Leukerbad-Dala Gorge-Majingsee 6.2 km

Nice hike with great views from Leukerbad through the Dala gorge to Majingsee and back. The stretch in the Dala gorge includes stretches on cool steel bridges, a hang bridge and stairs and might be a problem for people with vertigo (see https://www.leukerbad.ch/adventures/summer/hiking/thermal-canyon-walk/). Alternative paths are then available for this stretch.
The track starts near to our hotel. You pass the church, walk to the Dorfstrasse and then take the path along the Dala river. You follow this upstream, pass below a bridge and arrive to the start of the walk through the gorge (thermal canyon walk). You soon enter a steel walkway, pass a hangbridge, climb some stairs, and admire the river, waterfalls, and rock polished by the whirling water. At the end of the canyon walk, you continue on a normal path following the Dala valley upstream. After a bridge across the Dala you return on the other side of the valley. Shortly after you arrive to the small Majingsee lake. You continue to follow the forest track that changes into an asphalt road. You pass (or enter) restaurant Weidstübli. Shortly after you take a smaller path down to the center of Leukerbad, and return to the start of the walk.
