El sendero se encuentra en un espacio catalogado en la Red Natura 2000 como Lugar de Interés Comunitario y Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves (ZEPA), debido a la presencia de algunas especies como el búho real, el halcón peregrino o el águila perdicera. Además, pueden observarse otras especies protegidas como la Tortuga Mora.
Esta variante de menor distancia y con recorrido circular, la cual, discurre por las Ramblas del Baladre y de los Mayorales, evitando los dos tramos de asfalto.
Los cauces de las ramblas por las que discurre este sendero, están habitualmente secos, pero mantienen cierta humedad en el subsuelo incluso en los meses de verano. En estas zonas, crecen arbustos de mayor porte como los baladres, que le dan nombre al sendero o los lentiscos, permitiéndonos disfrutar de una vegetación más exuberante que la que encontramos en las laderas, donde la especie predominante es el esparto.

The route lies within an area which is included in the Natura 2000 network as a Site of Community Importance and is a ZEPA birdlife protection zone, due to the presence of species such as the eagle owl, the peregrine falcon and the Bonelli’s eagle. The route is also home to other protected species such as the spur-thighed tortoise.
Circular one which runs only along the Rambla del Baladre and the Rambla de los Mayorales, avoiding the road.
The beds of the “rambla” floodwater channels along which the path runs are usually dry, but there is still some moisture in the subsoil even during the summer. This is where the vegetation features larger shrubs such as oleanders (giving the route its name, Sendero del Baladre) and lentisks, making it possible to enjoy far lusher greenery than on the hillside, where the most prevalent vegetation is esparto grass.
