The launch is near the east end of the SR 92 Bridge at Goodland. There's a clear area on the south side for parking and a ramp down to the water's edge that's driveable as long as you stop before going into the water (just joking). The launch is fairly flat and easy. There's no fee and the area is well used.
This trail can be done clockwise or counter-clockwise. It's mostly open water and the stretch between Hell's Gate and Sugar Bay is about the only place you'll have to pay attention depending on what you're using to navigate. There's a good chance you'll see marine life anywhere on the loop. If you're industrious you can swing out to Coon Key for a break.
