Descripción del itinerario
A great option to spend the day in Pirikita Khevsureti, if you are driving an SUV.
We started from Shatili and drove to three popular places in the region. These are the crypts near the abandon village of Anatori, the highland fortress-village of Mutso (my favorite) and the fortified village of Ardoti, where you can see very beautiful ruins of an Orthodox church.
The road along the way was surprisingly good, although some landslides come right up to the roadway. It is clear that the road is being watched. We even met ordinary passenger cars, but I wouldn't risk riding here without four-wheel drive and high clearance.
We also met border guards who asked where we were coming from and where we were going. We told our route, and then drove on. They didn't check our documents. However, if you decide to deviate from the route, you will probably come across a border checkpoint. You need to have documents with you.
We got out of the car and allowed ourselves to leisurely walk through these beautiful places. Khevsuret lands greeted us with greenery, picturesque high and narrow gorges and coolness and pleasant rain.
These are very original, protected and cinematic places. Customs and religious places are reverently treated here, so first of all it is better to ask the locals where it is worth going and where not.
Now I really want to hike here for a long time.
