Descripción del itinerario
A beautiful refreshing day in Nahr Ibrahim,
Sceneries UNSPEAKABLY BEAUTIFUL, like never seen before. Majestic, giant, sky-high mountain cliffs above u and a greenish to bluish crystal clear water to deep dive in at any time. Uninfluenced by human activity, everything’s so peaceful. Very special indeed.
This whole trail is mainly about the 3.5kms in Nahr Ibrahim river. But being covered with huge mountains, my GPS was a catastrophe. Thus, due to Jumpy GPS, my activity reported more distance than we actually travelled since each ‘zig’ and ‘zag’ of my GPS track will be accounted. So it ended up recording around 11kms instead of 3.5 .
I tried to post as much possible waypoints to help u leading the way, but im quite not sure how much helpful this can be, bcz of the GPS inaccuracy and knowing that being in water u cant keep checking ur phone.
So what to expect:
-there’s no trail to follow at the river, all we did was hopping from side to another and swimming when the river is flat which we did with pleasure during these hot days (DO NOT JUMP FROM CASCADES, and always swim in the area to discover its depth and test it before plunging in it),
-when on the side of the river, u’ll b walking on huge rocks and trying to find any logical path to move forward which categorized the trail as difficult, challenging and adventurous,
-a superb magnificent cold water
-of course, DO NOT ATTEMPT to do this trail in winter or spring as the river flow is too dangerous.
-slightly harder to do it in opposite direction as u’ll be moving against the river flow. But possible.
-take as much time to observe and admire the surroundings.
-we encountered 2 trails that were going up from the river, we didnt follow them, we stayed by the river.
Essentials: water shoes - water bottles and waterproof case for ur phone if its not waterproof - Get a stick on ur way, it helps u sometimes for a better balance when walking in the river.
Enjoyyy and most importantly make sure u dont venture in any risks.

Hey Ray, question does this require us to enter from the main reserve entrance and take the usual trail down to chouwen at some point or is it completely different?
Hey Jean Louis. Yes from the main entrance of the reserve at Chouwen. And you follow the trail down to reach the river where there’s a bridge and a watermill.
Its a lovely area and an adventurous journey. Enjoy it man
Thanks!
