Descripción del itinerario
We left Upis early morning. Our plan was to get over the first pass along Mt. Ausangate and then turn south/west for the detour to the Rainbow Mountains. We kept going up and south instead of hiking along the mountain and ended up with a short cut (traces of hikers/animals where there).
We camp close to the lodge where shelters where set up. Nobody expect of Alpaca farmers were around. A river flows close by the site.
