Descripción del itinerario
We started this walk from the parking place of the Citadel.
The visit to the Citadel is interesting and the views from the vantage point are marvellous.
You can do a guided tour or choose to do it on your own, the leaflet gives enough information to do so.
After this we took the imposing 408 steps down to the city, but you could take the cableway just as easily as it is included in the price of the ticket (9,50 Euro).
From the steps, however you will have the time to admire the views at your own pace.
After a short stretch through the city we followed a steep track up to a part of the old ramparts and after that went on to the footbridge across the Meuse to enjoy the view.
From here we took the direction towards the Abbey of the Notre Dame (Leffe) and after passing the ancient library of the abbey took the first track that took us through the woods to the open fields.
After descending to a traffic thrilled Côte Saint-Jacques we took the first opportunity to leave the traffic noise behind us and followed the quiet little road called the Rue Pont D'Amour.
What then follows is a long stretch through the open fields which becomes really beautiful once you get to walk west-south-west again as you then have a nice view towards the hills on the other side of the river.
After crossing the Chemin D'Herbuchenne the track descends into the woods again and will take you back along a pleasant and narrow track, passing a wonderful view point, back to the parking place.

Thank you for your reaction.
