Descripción del itinerario

Starting from the Silky Oak Picnic area this hike progresses directly up an old track to the Maculata track. From there the track goes down the Maculata track to meet up with the Quarry trail. This will loop around the whole quarry area back around to the other side of Mt Coot tha where we will ascend up a rough track up to the telephone transmission station at the top of the Bardon trail. Note this rough trail can be hard to find the entrance of as no signage tells you you are on the right track. Follow the wikiloc closely ensuring that you via left shortly after entering the turn off from the end of the Quarry trail.

From there the trail proceeds down the Bardon trail and then up the Channel 10 trail to circumnavigate Channel 10 studio's and then down to Brushbox car park. The conclusion of the hike involves heading down the Brush Box trail to Powerful Owl trail and then following Powerful Owl all way down to the start.

Interesting number of trails encompassing the Quarry and some of the trails not frequently traversed up the north side of the mountain. Very steep in its entirety.
