Descripción del itinerario

via Eagles Cut, Sunset Ridge, Subway & Canyons trail & Halfway House

I have rated this trail difficult because of the section of trail from the Subway trail and Ladder waypoint along the Canyons trail which is marked with yellow trail markers. The rest of the trail follows blue trail markers.
Apparently yellow markers are for more difficult tracks than the blue trails.
The Canyon trail is rather rudimentary but still easy enough to see. Narrow and in places it goes through low rock tunnels and has some exposed sections and rock scrambles but they do have plenty of footholds and handholds. Slow to follow but OK if you take your time.
If Wikiloc appears to show you off the track STAY ON THE MARKED TRACK. We found that GPS uncertainty errors put us some distance off the Wikiloc trail we were following but following the marked trail often followed parallel to Wikiloc. Anywhere where my Wikiloc trail seems to wander around aimlessly it was because I was trying to follow a Wikiloc trail rather than commiting to the marked trail.
NOTE: I am sure the "moving time" was much longer than the 2hr 48min shown in the Wikiloc summary. We were moving quite slowly along much of the yellow marked part of the trail. The overall time is accurate and allowed us plenty of time for rest stops uphill, snack and lunch stops and also for photos and adding waypoints pics to the recording.
I am a reasonably fit 71 year old with a lot of bushwalking experience and my companion was a reasonably fit 56 year old woman with some experience on similar tracks and handles exposed areas well.
If weather was wet you would need to allow a lot more time because of slippery rocks.

Ladder

The ladder goes down about 4 metres into a big cut in the rock on the top of the Subway trail. Just below the ladder there is a trail junction which is the start of the Canyons trail (yellow markers)

Not really a junction -

Looks like the trail goes straight ahead but it goes sharply down to the right along what looks like a water washed exposed section of rock. The pic shows the real trail.

Intersection

Where the yellow Canyons trail meets the blue Halfway House trail. Turn to the right downhill. There was a rope to help descent over an exposed rock slab at this point when we did the trail.
