Descripción del itinerario
We started our hike near an army post at the south of Sannine massif (Sannine-Tarchich road). Soon after the start (1km), we left the trail to the right and we walked on the eastern hills of Sannine overlooking Qaa El Rim town and valley. This part is relatively difficult with tough terrain and some steep slopes. If you want to avoid this part, just stay on the trail till you reach the waypoint "Back on trail" at 6 km. After a long ascent, you will see the beautiful ridge of Sannine peaks. We climbed the ridge from the east and walked from summit to summit. A newly installed cross (Saint Sophie waypoint) is on the way. After many "ups and downs", we reached the new wooden cross raised at the true sannine summit (2628 m). We wanted to continue to the third cross (the famous sannine cross that can be seen from Baskinta and Zaarour and thought to be the highest point of Sannine by most people) but there was a convoy of 4x4 cars at this point making the visit unpleasant (check my other trails if you want to reach the cross). We turned southwest reaching the west ridge. The walk on the ridge to the south is beautiful with no major difficulty. This trail is physically demanding. Have at least 3 liters of water and watch your steps at the off-trail parts (at least 80% of the walk).
