Descripción del itinerario

The hike takes place in Horton Plains National Park. We were staying in Nuwara Eliya and our hotel arranged a tuktuk driver to get us to the national park early morning (we left at 5am and got there at 6:30am).

The views from the road early morning were impressive, with a sea of clouds below us and some wild moose in the grasslands.

We first did the 8km round hike to the World's end. It is a very easy hike, very flat, very well indicated and the path is in very good condition. It has two very nice view points (Little World's End and Greater World's End) and a beautiful waterfall (Baker's Waterfall).

We then tried to climb Kirigalpotta, the second highest mountain in Sri Lanka. The trail is mostly flat until the final part, but the condition of the trail was not very good. There were very tall plants around the trail, and lots of mud in the floor. We decided to turn around half-way.

The entrance fee for the national park is a bit expensive. It costed us 21200 LKR (63€) for two people. The tuktuk driver costed us 9000 LKR (27€).
